Xplosion to hold open sign-ups for cheerleading, dance and street teams

PITTSBURGH, November 14, 2006 - The Pittsburgh Xplosion professional basketball team will hold open sign-ups for women interested in joining the Continental Basketball Association club's "Bomb Squad" dance team, cheerleading squad and "Hot Shotts" street team on Saturday, November 18 from 9:00 PM to midnight at Margarita Mama's in Station Square.

"We are seeking talented, personable, and dedicated women to join our dance, cheerleading and street teams," said the Xplosion's Director of Promotions Bill Neal.

Potential candidates must be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate. Bomb Squad and cheerleading team members will be expected to perform high-energy, fast paced dance routines. All three spirit squads will make personal appearances on behalf of the Pittsburgh Xplosion, supporting various games and events throughout the year.

The Club 4 Life in Monroeville, Pa. serves as the Pittsburgh Xplosion's training and practice facility. The team opens its 2006-07 Continental Basketball Association season at Albany on December 1 and plays its home opener versus the Indiana AlleyCats at Mellon Arena on Wednesday, December 6.
