PITTSBURGH, October 8, 2006 - Members of the Pittsburgh Xplosion were among those on hand to celebrate the 2006 Magee-Women's Hospital Birthday Party at Kennywood Amusement Park. Xplosion team members were available to sign autographs and take photographs, as well as to monitor the basketball shooting area and participate in the Birthday Party Parade.
The Birthday Party served as a special celebration for families who got their start at Magee. Proceeds from the event supported the Magee-Women's Institute and Foundation.
The Pittsburgh Xplosion opens its inaugural season in the Continental Basketball Association on Friday, December 1 at Albany. The team's first home game will be played at Mellon Arena on Wednesday, December 6 versus Vancouver. Season ticket packages start at $125.
