PITTSBURGH, February 4, 2008 - The Pittsburgh Xplosion used an opening 20-3 run to defeat the Atlanta Krunk, 164-119, tonight at the Petersen Events Center. Chaz McCrommon led the Xplosion with 39 points.
Pittsburgh never trailed, and they took complete control from the outset as they ran up those 20 points in the first 3:47 of the contest. The Xplosion led, 41-27, after the first. McCrommon led Pittsburgh with 12 points on 5-of-5 shooting, including 2-of-2 from beyond the arc.
The Xplosion led, 77-54, at the break.
Atlanta gave the Xplosion a run for the fourth quarter point, but Pittsburgh sealed its seventh quarter point sweep of the season, moving to within one of the CBA record.
Pittsburgh travels to Minot to face the first-place Skyrockets on Wednesday night. The two teams will meet at the Petersen Events Center Friday night at 7:05 PM.
