Memphis Xplorers News Release
Southaven, MS â The Memphis Xplorers drew over 60 participants to a tryout this morning despite the cold weather that featured windy conditions with sleet coming. Originally scheduled outdoors at Horn Lake High School the tryout was moved indoors to the DeSoto Civic Center because of the weather. The af2 season begins at the end of March and features a 16-game regular season campaign. For more information call (662)-280-3737 or go online to www.xplorersaf2.com .
"We saw several players that caught our attention," said Xplorers Head Coach Danton Barto. "Despite the weather things went well and we were able to hold a good tryout in the ballroom of the DCC. I anticipate that we could sign as many as three or four players from this that would have a legitimate opportunity to make this years Xplorers squad."
The first game for the Xplorers is scheduled for April 5th at Columbus. The Xplorers first home game is on April 12th when they host the Bakersfield Blitz.
All Xplorers home games will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the DCC this year with seven of the eight home contests being played on Saturday nights in the Mid-South. For tickets or more information call (662)-280-3737or go online to www.xplorersaf2.com.
