Memphis Xplorers News Release
SOUTHAVEN, Miss â The Memphis Xplorers have been assigned three new OL/DL by af2. Thomas Herron, Joseph Crear and Mike Gibbs will be in the lineup this weekend. Memphis travels to Arkansas this Saturday to tangle with the Twisters. The Xplorers return home on May 17th against the Louisville Fire. "Herron was recommended by Pat Spuerduto of the Nashville Kats in the AFL," Xplorers head coach Danton Barto said. "Spuerduto said Herron will be one of the most dominating linemen in af2."
Also assigned to the Xplorers was Crear, who had 17 sacks and 30 tackles for loss this past season at Mississippi Valley State. "He is quick and he has a good idea of what is going on," Barto said.
Gibbs played football this past season at Lambuth College in Jackson, TN.
