TENNESSEE VALLEY VIPERS (4-0) AT BOSSIER CITY BATTLE WINGS (2-3)
FRIDAY, MAY 9, 2003 - CENTURYTEL CENTER (12,500) 8:30 P.M. ET
In a rematch from a week ago, the Bossier City Battle Wings play host to the unbeaten Tennessee Valley Vipers. Coach CHAD CARLSON'S Battle Wings will try to snap a two-game losing skid and hand the Vipers their first loss of the season. Both teams scored season lows last week as Tennessee Valley beat Bossier City 33-21. Typically, these teams both average around 50 points a game (BOS - 50.4; TEN 47.8). Quarterback MATT SAUK has thrown 19 touchdowns for the Vipers, while the Battle Wings' SHERARD POTEETE has tossed 16 scores and rushed for 11 more. Last week, the Vipers' JERRIAN JAMES caught one touchdown and ran for another. He has four receiving and two rushing touchdowns for the season. Bossier City's leading receiver, LEAFORD HACKITT, has caught 37 balls for 500 yards and nine touchdowns. WES STEPHENS leads the Vipers with two sacks, including one last week as the Vipers sacked Poteete three times in the game. The Battle Wings' CHRIS SAMSON is third in af2 with 30 tackles. This is the final regular season meeting between the two teams.
