Xavier Ouellet Among 4 QMJHL Representatives at Ivan Hlinka Tournament

Montreal, August 4th, 2010- Hockey Canada released the names of the 22 junior players, four of which play in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, that will take part in the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament as members of Canada's National Under-18 Team. This competition is set to take place August 9-14 in Breclav, Czech Republic and Piestany, Slovakia.

Among the selected players is Montreal Juniors defenseman Xavier Ouellet. In 2009-2010, the 17 year old rearguard represented Team Quebec in the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Timmins, Ontario, and finished the season with the honour of being named to the QMJHL Rookie All-Star Team.

After an exhibition game this Saturday, August 7th against the Czech Republic, Team Canada will play its preliminary games in Piestany with the other members of Group B: Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland. The top two teams will advance to the semifinals on August 13th, and the gold medal game is scheduled to take place the following day.
