X-MEN SQUARE OFF WITH YARD DAWGS TOMORROW NIGHT

Team Tries To Extend Win Streak To Seven

Oklahoma City---The Memphis Xplorers of the af2 will face off with the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz this Friday night at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City. The Xplorers enter the game tied for the best overall record in the league at 10-1.

These two teams met back on May 7th at the DeSoto Civic Center, where the Xplorers won 43-38. Memphis had a 17 point lead in the first half, before Oklahoma City closed it to five with 3:12 remaining in the game. The Xplorers were able to run out the clock and seal the victory. Memphis has polished off six wins in a row and jumped out to a three-game lead in the Mid-West Division of the National Conference.

Dahnel Singfield earned the ADT Defensive Player of the Game against Oklahoma City with four tackles, four pass deflections, and one interception. Singfield is coming off of the ADT Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts against the Steeldogs last Saturday. The other two awards winners in the first game against the Yard Dawgz were WR/LB Ryan Karr, and QB Brian Jones. Both of those players will be sidelined tomorrow night with injuries.

Earlier this week Memphis picked up quarterback Michael Wall. Wall led the Xplorers to the playoffs in 2004, going 6-1 in the final seven regular season games. "Jones has been having an MVP like season," said Memphis Head Coach Danton Barto. "He is still our guy, but we are happy to have Michael Wall this Friday"

Oklahoma City is 6-5, and currently in a position to go to the playoffs.

"The Yard Dawgz are a quality opponent," said Barto. "We are expecting one of the toughest games of the season this weekend. The team had a great week of practice and we are ready to play."

Game time is scheduled for 7:35pm Friday. All Xplorers games can be heard on SportsRadio WMC The Mighty 790 AM. The next Memphis home game is Saturday July 9th against the Tulsa Talons. Single game tickets start as low as $7 and can be purchased by calling 662-342-1755, visiting the DeSoto Civic Center box office, or by logging onto www.TicketMaster.com today.
