Wranglers Slip Past Aces 4-2

For the third straight night the Alaska Aces and Las Vegas Wranglers game came down to the final period, and for the second straight night, the Wranglers edged out a victory. Adam Miller had a hat trick, including the game winning goal in the third period to give the Wranglers a 4-2 win over the Aces from the Orleans Arena on Saturday night. The Aces dropped to 32-11-6, on the season, and 2-5-1 so far on the road trip. The Aces now head to Boise, ID where they complete their 11-game road trip with three games against the Steelheads. Dan Kissel scored his first of two goals to open the scoring at 10:33 of the first period. The goal stood as the only one of the first period with Alaska outshooting Las Vegas 9-4.
Early in the second period, Las Vegas got on the board when Peter MacArthur scored on a redirection from the bottom of the left circle at 2:02. Las Vegas took their first lead at 13:52 of the period when Miller scored his first of the night. Kissel immediately responded 14 seconds later with his 27th goal of the season from the high slot.
With the game tied in the third, the Wranglers took the lead once again on their seventh power play of the game. Miller scored off a face-off at 9:14 to give Las Vegas a 3-2 lead. Then, with time winding down, Miller completed the hat trick at 18:24 to help Las Vegas secure the victory.
Adam Courchaine (15-7-4) took the loss, making 17 saves on 21 shots. Joe Fallon (25-8-4) earned the win, stopping 19 of 21 shots against. The Aces power play went 0-5, while the Wranglers went 1-7. The Aces and Wranglers each had 21 shots in the game.
