Quick hits

- The Wranglers have the third-best win percentage in the NAHL this season.

- In Friday night's game, the Wranglers scored at even strength, shorthanded, and on the powerplay.

- Carter Clafton made 41 saves in Friday night's loss. Clafton cur- rently has the third-best goals-against average with a 1.47.

- With an assist on Tommy Chunchukov's first goal Friday night, Connor McNaughton picked up his first career NAHL point.

- With fights from Chase Davis and Zack Kent, the Wranglers have dropped the gloves three times this season. All three fights have come against Shreveport.

- Amarillo will host the Odessa Jackalopes this weekend. Odessa en- ters this weekend on a three-game winning streak. Odessa current- ly sits in seventh place in the South division.

- Saturday night is First Responder's night. All first responders will get a free ticket to the game and be honored throughout the eve- ning. Last year first responders night drew in 2,500 people.

WRANGLERS BY THE NUMBERS

- homecoming : The Wranglers had over 4,000 fans in attendance be- tween the first two home games of the season. Saturday night, over 2,400 fans were in attendance.

- PK : Amarillo went 5-for-6 on killing penalties against Shreveport. The Wranglers even scored a short-handed goal.

- point % : The Wranglers have picked up points in seven of their first eight games this season. Amarillo, Lone Star, and New Mexico are the only teams to have points in all but one of their games thus far.

- SHAke off the rust : After having 23 consecutive days off, the Wranglers now have games for the next nine weeks before the hol- iday break. Shreveport came into last weekend's games in a groove of playing four straight weeks.

Wranglers homestand continues

After a three-week layoff, the Wranglers returned to action against Shreveport for the first two home games of 2022-23. Amarillo picked up one point Friday night in a 4-to-3 shootout loss. Tommy Chunchukov scored a pair of goals, and Roman Zap scored in Friday's game.

The Wranglers got a goal from defenseman Preston Brighton on Satur- day night but came out on the wrong end of a 3-to-1 score for their first regulation loss of the season.

After finishing fourth in league attendance last season, the Wranglers drew over 4,000 fans to the Budweiser Bullpen this past weekend. Fans got their money's worth Friday night with plenty of back-and-forth goals and two fights. Saturday night featured a pregame ceremony for the longtime voice of hockey in Amarillo, Denis Puska. Over 2,000 fans saw the unveiling of the Denis J Puska Broadcast Post.

After a tough sweep at the hands of the Mudbugs, the Wranglers now turn their attention to hosting the seventh-place Odessa Jackalopes this weekend. Odessa is currently riding a three-game win streak following a sweep of the El Paso Rhinos at home last weekend. The Wranglers went 3-3-2 last season against Odessa.

Saturday night is the second annual 'First Responders Night,' where first responders get into the game for free and discounted tickets for friends and family. Last year's First Responders Night' drew over 2,000 people.
