Wranglers game on Saturday at 7:00 PM

AUSTIN-Finishing up a three-game homestand, the Austin Wranglers host the Orlando Predators on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Frank Erwin Center. The Southern Division leading Wranglers, who posted a 6-2 record through the first half of the season, face a Predators team that is tied for third place in the division with a 4-4 record. The game will be televised Live on Fox Sports Net Southwest.

The Wranglers play three of their next four games against Southern Division opponents and can cement their position as the divisional leader beginning with a win this weekend. These match ups include home games with the Orlando Predators (3/25), Georgia Force (4/9) and Tampa Bay Storm (4/15). Next week, the Wranglers travel to Philadelphia to face the Jon Bon Jovi owned Philadelphia Soul on Friday at 6:00 p.m.

Salute to Education Night

Saturday's theme is a "Salute to Education." Students from the elementary to college levels are invited to attend the game. With advance purchase, students can receive special discounted pricing for the event by calling 512.339.3939.

Kicking off the games festivities will be Wranglers offensive specialist Derrick Lewis, who will sing the national anthem at the game. Lewis, who has a musical background stemming from gospel to hip-hop, has sung the national anthem for the New Orleans Saints, San Diego State University and the Olympics.

At halftime, the Wranglers will honor the 2005 AISD Teacher of the Year award recipients for their service to education in the Austin community. Also performing is the Austin Cheer Factory, a group of youth cheerleaders from the Austin area.
