Wranglers Edged by Thunder 3-1, Series Tied 3-3

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers (7-6) were defeated by the Stockton Thunder (7-6) 3-1 in Game 6 of the Pacific Division Finals in front of 3,136 fans at the Orleans Arena on Tuesday night. With the win, Stockton ties the series 3-3 and forces Game 7 on Wednesday. Forward Kelly Czuy scored the lone Las Vegas goal. Craig Valette, Kenny MacAulay, and Cory Urquhart each scored for Stockton in the win. Wranglers' goalie Glenn Fisher made 34 saves in his second loss of the playoffs. Thunder goalie Parker Van Buskirk stopped 22 of 23 shots in his sixth win. Las Vegas will host Stockton for Game 7 Wednesday at 7:30 PM.

In the first period, Stockton Captain Craig Valette tallied with just 14-seconds left in the period to give Stockton the 1-0 lead. Valette put a wrap-around shot past Wranglers goalie Glenn Fisher for his sixth goal of the playoffs.

Las Vegas pulled even 2:24 into the middle period with a power-play goal from forward Kelly Czuy. Czuy knocked in a rebound for his fifth goal of the playoffs to tie the game 1-1. Stockton regained the lead with 26-seconds left in the second period with a goal from defenseman Kenny MacAulay. MacAulay snapped a shot from the point for his first goal of the playoffs and the 2-1 Thunder lead.

In the third period, Stockton forward Cory Urquhart notched an empty-net goal with 17-seconds remaining to cap a 3-1 Stockton win.

The Wranglers will host Game 7 on Wednesday, May 6th at 7:30 PM.
