Las Vegas Wranglers News Release

Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced Thursday that rookie goaltender Travis Fullerton has agreed to terms with the team for the 2013-14 season.

Fullerton, 25, spent five years (2008-13) at the University of New Brunswick, most recently earning a 2.23 goals-against average (GAA) and 0.877 save percentage last season. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound goaltender won three Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) championships with the Varsity Reds, hoisting the University Cup in 2009, 2011, and 2013. He then appeared in two games for the ECHL's San Francisco Bulls in 2012-13 on an amateur try-out agreement, recording a 1.59 GAA and 0.941 save percentage.

"Travis Fullerton is a guy who just knows how to win games," said Wranglers Head Coach and General Manager Mike Madill. "That's easy to see with the number of national championships he helped UNB win over the past five years. Longtime UNB coach Gardiner MacDougall had nothing but praise for Travis, and we're excited to have him as a part of our team."

Prior to UNB, Fullerton played four seasons (2004-08) in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the Maritime Junior A Hockey League. The Riverview, New Brunswick native minded the net for the Lewiston MAINEiacs, Moncton Gagnon Beavers, and Saint John Sea Dogs.

The Wranglers open their eleventh season of hockey in Las Vegas on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 7:05 p.m. against the Utah Grizzlies. For the entire Wranglers schedule, please click here for a one-page PDF.
