Wranglers Add Nehring to Roster

Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced Friday that center Chad Nehring has agreed to terms with the team for the 2013-14 season.
Nehring ("Near-ing"), 26, joins the Wranglers after spending last season with the Central Hockey League's Arizona Sundogs. The 5-foot-11, 194-pound center recorded 33 goals and 24 assists during the regular season, and tacked on two more goals and an assist in the playoffs. The Springside, Saskatchewan native spent his rookie season (2011-12) with the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads, posting 17 goals and 15 assists after coming to the team on an amateur try-out agreement at the end of the 2010-11 season.
"Chad is a goal scorer, plain and simple," said Wranglers Head Coach and General Manager Mike Madill. "We lost a couple offensive guys from last year and he is going to help fill that hole. Chad will score goals any way he can - nice or ugly - and he will score a lot of them. He's a very talented player who plays with an edge."
Before turning pro, Nehring played four years (2007-11) at Lake Superior State University. Named alternate captain his senior year, he notched 30 goals and 23 assists in 147 games with the Lakers.
The Wranglers open their eleventh season of hockey in Las Vegas on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 7:05 p.m. against the Utah Grizzlies.
