
Worcester's Colabello Wins Player of the Year

DURHAM, NC - The Can-Am League announced today that Worcester Tornadoes INF Chris Colabello was selected by the league's field managers and media personnel as the 2011 Player of the Year.
Colabello batted .348 with 20 home runs, 79 RBI and 127 hits (including 52 for extra bases). He also scored 75 runs, collected 32 doubles to go along with a slugging percentage of .600 and a .410 on-base percentage. The resident of Milford, MA played in 92 games and had 219 total bases. Colabello finished in the top three in the Can-Am League in 12 offensive categories. This included finishing first or tied for first in total bases, extra base hits, doubles and slugging percentage.
The 27-year-old was a two-time Player of the Week recipient this season. Colabello has played with the Tornadoes for seven seasons.
