
Worcester Sharks Host Bruins in Home Opener at DCU Center on Saturday

Worcester, MA - The Worcester Sharks (@WorcesterSharks), proud American Hockey League affiliate of the San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) announce the special events surrounding the 20th AHL home opener at the DCU Center in Worcester on Saturday, October 18 at 7:00p.m. vs. the Providence Bruins as the Sharks kick-off their 9th season of hockey in Worcester.
The festivities for the 20th AHL home opener at the DCU Center will begin at 5:30pm with a Fan Fest outside of the Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare Pavilion! The Worcester County Sheriff's mobile command unit will be on display, try your luck at the dunk tank, free face painting, and balloon artists will keep you occupied before doors open at 6pm.
Inside the Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare Pavilion you can play bubble hockey, get a caricature, score a goal in the ScrubaDub SharkHead Shootout, and get your picture taken in the 20 years of AHL hockey photo booth!
A special on-ice presentation will honor 20 years of AHL hockey and the Worcester Junior Sharks will hit the ice to welcome the 2014-15 Worcester Sharks! Make sure to take your seat for the 20 years of AHL hockey banner raising ceremony with a special visit from the IceCats mascot Scratch and FINZ!
The puck is set to drop at 7:00p.m. against the Providence Bruins, and it will be your first opportunity to see the entire Worcester Sharks hockey team and welcome back Jimmy Bonneau, Troy Grosenick, Freddie Hamilton and the rest of Team Teal! Make sure to score a magnet schedule after the game!
As always, tickets are as low as $10 and groups of four or more are encouraged to purchase a Family Fun Pack beforehand which includes four tickets, four hotdogs, and four sodas starting at just $79! (Family Fun Pack is only available by calling the Sharks front office at 508-929-0500).

The Worcester Sharks travel to Providence on Friday for a 7:05pm start vs. the Bruins. Coverage begins at 6:35pm on WTAG and AHL Live.

Worcester celebrates 20 years of AHL hockey!
The 2014-15 season marks the 20th season of AHL action at the DCU Center in the city of Worcester. Over 3.8 million fans have attended either an IceCats (11 seasons) or Sharks (9th season) game in downtown Worcester since 1994.
