Portland Pirates Announce Roster Moves

Saco, ME - The Portland Pirates today announced a pair of roster moves. Forward Justin Hodgman has been assigned to the Pirates from the Arizona Coyotes, while forward Dan O'Donoghue has been assigned by Portland to the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL.

Hodgman, a 6-foot-1, 196 pound center from Brampton, Ontario was assigned to Portland on Sunday. The 26 year-old was the Coyotes' leading scorer in the 2014 preseason, notching four goals and one assist for five points in five games. He had not played a game during the regular season for Arizona before he was reassigned.

Hodgman has not played in the AHL since the 2010-11 season when he played 42 games for the Toronto Marlies. He spent last season in Russia's Kontinental Hockey League with Metallurg Magnitogorsk, Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod, and Admiral Vladivostok, playing in 49 games, scoring 11-15-26.

O'Donoghue, a 6-foot-5, 210 pound right wing from Port Jefferson, New York, is in his first full season as a pro. He played three games for Portland at the end of the 2013-14 season without scoring a point. He did suit up for Portland's season opening win this past Saturday against the Providence Bruins. He played in both Pirates preseason games and scored one goal.

The Pirates are on the road for three games this weekend, starting this Friday night in Binghamton, where they will take on the Senators at 7:05 p.m. You can hear the game on the WPEI Portland Pirates Radio Network with Jeff Mannix, starting with the Pirates Pregame Show at 6:45.
