
Worcester Drops Third Straight Game

Worcester, MA - The Worcester Bravehearts fell to the Nashua Silver Knights 11-4. The loss drops the Bravehearts back down to .500 with a 21-21 record.
Both teams scored one run in the first inning. The Silver Knights struck first on a John Mead (Wilmington University) RBI triple. The Bravehearts answered with a Sebastian Salado (Palm Beach Atlantic) solo home run.
Nashua scored four runs in the third, highlighted by a three-run home run by Mead. Another run would score on a fielder's choice. The Bravehearts would get one back in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly by Duxbury native Buddy Mrowka (Northeastern).
But Nashua would score four more runs in the sixth inning. The first was on a Mead RBI single. After runs scored on an error and fielder's choice, the fourth run scored on a Sam McNulty (Boston College) RBI double. The Bravehearts responded with two in the bottom half of the inning on two RBI singles by North Attleboro native Zach DeMattio (Wheaton) and Mrowka.
Bravehearts starter Aaron Dona (STAC) picked up the loss, going four innings, giving up five runs, while striking out four.
Silver Knights pitcher Graham Jeffries (Salve Regina) picked up the win, going 1.1 innings, allowing two runs, and striking out three.
The Bravehearts travel to Westfield tomorrow to take on the Starfires. First pitch from Bullens Field is at 6:30pm.
