Quad City Mallards News Release

Moline, IL-The Quad City Mallards today announced that forward Chad Woollard has been loaned to the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League. Woollard heads to the AHL after appearing in 45 games this season with the Mallards.

Woollard ranks second on the Mallards roster with 53 points (23 goals and 30 assists) during the 2006-07 season. He is tied for eighth in UHL scoring. Last weekend, Woollard reunited with linemates Brett Pilkington and Don Parsons. During the three-game stretch, he scored nine points on three goals and six assists. On Friday night, he netted the game-winning goal vs. Bloomington. He torched the PrairieThunder again on Sunday when he scored a game-tying goal with just 3:02 left in the contest.

Woollard joined the Mallards in the fall of 2005 following a trade with the Rockford IceHogs. He led the 2005-06 Mallards team in goals (44) and points (76). The Durham, Ontario native represented the Mallards at both the 2006 and 2007 UHL All-Star Classic. At this season's All-Star Game, he led the Western Conference in scoring with five points on two goals and three assists.

His assignment to the San Antonio squad marks the third time in his career that he will skate for an AHL team. In 2001-02, Woollard played two games with the Utah Grizzlies. He was held scoreless in his inaugural American League appearance but racked up five penalty minutes. During the 2003-04 season, he played four games with the St. John's Maple Leafs of the AHL. He scored a goal and also accumulated four penalty minutes.

The Mallards host the Rockford IceHogs tomorrow night at The MARK. Game time is 7:00 p.m. During the game, K9 Kindness will be hosting a bachelor auction featuring Mallards players. Proceeds from the auctions will benefit K9 Kindness, an organization that saves dogs. Individual tickets for all Mallards home games are available at The MARK box office, via phone at (563) 326-1111 or on-line at ticketmaster.com.
