Sudbury Wolves News Release
WOLVES WELCOME JENDEK (Greater Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce that overage forward Dominik Jendek will join the Wolves for the remainder of the 2021-22 season.
Jendek was selected by the Wolves in the second round of the 2020 Import Draft (91st overall) and committed to the Wolves back in November 2020.
"We are happy to add Dominik to our team," said Sudbury Wolves VP & General Manager, Rob Papineau. "He has played in the World Junior Championships for the past two years and has been playing in the men's league in Slovakia for the past three seasons. He brings speed and a smart two-way game, and we look forward to him becoming a leader within our group. With Kosta needing more time and an exact return date not 100%, we felt we needed to add an older player with Dominik's experience to help our club," added Papineau.
Jendek is a 6'1", 181lb right winger who played 15 games for HC Modre Kridla Slovan this season where he had 3 goals and 5 assists. Jendek will travel to Canada Friday and is expected to join the team Sunday.
Jendek joins defenceman Liam Ross, goaltender Mitchell Week and forward Kosta Manikis as the Wolves overage players this season.
The Wolves are back in action this week for a three-game homestand at the Sudbury Arena against the Mississauga Steelheads Thursday and Friday, before the Barrie Colts come to town on Sunday afternoon.
Tickets for all three games are on-sale now at greatersudbury.ca/tickets. For more information on the games, visit: https://sudburywolves.com/article/wolves-host-steelheads-colts-in-three-game- homestand-this-week
