--- JASON KROG: Registered three goals, one assist and a +3 plus/minus rating in his Wolves debut on Saturday ... Shares second in the AHL with three goals and is tied for seventh with four points ... Earned 28 points (14G, 14A) in 29 games with Servette Geneve of the Swiss National League last season before joining Vasta Frolunda of the Swedish Elite League ... Notched six points (5G, A) in seven games with Vasta Frolunda

--- DARREN HAYDAR: Tallied two goals and a +3 plus/minus rating in his first game as a member of the Wolves on Saturday ... Ranked fifth in the American Hockey League with 92 points and seventh with 57 assists in 80 games with the Milwaukee Admirals last season ... Paced the AHL with 18 goals and 35 points in 21 postseason tilts last year, helping the Admirals to the Calder Cup Finals

--- MICHAEL GARNETT: Notched his third career AHL shutout against Peoria on Saturday ... Posted one shutout in 35 appearances with the Wolves last season ... Led Chicago goaltenders with 15 wins, 1,892 minutes played and 785 saves last year ... Notched a 10-7-4 mark, two shutouts, a 3.45 goals-against average and an .885 save percentage in 24 appearances with the Atlanta Thrashers last season, his NHL debut

--- STEVE MARTINS: Dished out an assist on Saturday in his first game with the Wolves in five seasons ... Skated in parts of two seasons with Chicago (1997-98 and 2000-01), collecting 21 goals, 43 assists, 64 points and 122 penalty minutes in 83 regular-season games ... Helped the Wolves capture the 1998 Turner Cup Championship ... Shared fifth in the AHL and paced the Binghamton Senators last year with a career-high 58 assists, and ranked 12th in the league and second on the team with a career-most 80 points

--- ALEX BOURRET: Registered an assist in his professional debut on Saturday ... Selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the first round, 16th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft ... Ranked seventh in the QMJHL with a career-high 70 assists and eighth with a career-most 114 points in 67 games last season with the Shawinigan Cataractes

--- CORY LAROSE: Posted an assist in the season-opener on Saturday ... Paced Langnau of the Swiss National League last season with 17 goals and ranked second with 31 points in 42 outings ... Held second on the Wolves with 63 points - one shy of matching a career-high - in 80 games during the 2004-05 season

HOME BOYS

The Wolves open their 40-game home slate when they battle the Milwaukee Admirals at the Allstate Arena on Sat., Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. Chicago has notched a 7-4-0-1-0 (.625) record in 12 all-time home openers, which includes losses in each of the last two.

WOLF TRACKS

--- Chicago's shutout against Peoria on Saturday marked just the second time in franchise history the team blanked an opponent on opening night; the Wolves also shut out the Manitoba Moose, 3-0, to launch their Turner Cup Championship year in 1997-98.

--- The Wolves recorded just two shutouts all of last season and did not blank an opponent until Feb. 25, the team's 55th outing of the year.

--- Center JASON KROG's hat trick was Chicago's 60th all-time and the second during a season opener; former Wolves forward MARK LAWRENCE turned the trick during the 2000-01 opener.

--- Last season, center DEREK MacKENZIE posted Chicago's only three-goal performance on Jan. 18, 2006, in the team's 39th game.

--- Saturday's victory improved Chicago's all-time opening night record to 7-3-0-3-0 (.654).

WHO LET THE DOGS OUT?

Wolves fans will have the opportunity to adopt a dog at Saturday's home opener through Chicago's Department of Animal Care and Control's (ACC) Adopt-a-Dog program, sponsored by Urban Out Sitters. Fans will have a chance to bring home a furry friend both at the tailgate party - which runs from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Southwest Parking Lot - or during the game in the East Lobby of the Allstate Arena.

--- The Wolves launched their 13th season on a high note as they blanked the Peoria Rivermen, 5-0, at Carver Arena
--- Netminder MICHAEL GARNETT turned in a 28-save shutout performance, while center JASON KROG collected three goals and an assist.
--- Center DARREN HAYDAR also chipped in two goals while rookies ALEX BOURRET, JORDAN LaVALLEE and BORIS VALABIK collected an assist each in their pro debuts
