Chicago Wolves News Release
MILWAUKEE---The Chicago Wolves saw their three-game winning streak snapped with a 4-2 Amtrak Rivalry loss to the Milwaukee Admirals Wednesday night at the Bradley Center.
Forwards Steve Reinprecht and Darren Haydar scored for Chicago, which was defeated for just the second time in its last eight contests.
Chicago (15-11-1-3) opened scoring with a power-play goal at 5:45 of the first period when Reinprecht snapped home the rebound of defenseman Kevin Connauton's shot past Admirals goaltender Jeremy Smith.
Milwaukee (19-8-0-1) tied the score 1-1 at 17:33 of the first period. Defenseman Victor Bartley hit a length of the ice pass to center Chris Muller who cranked a wrister just under the bar and over the glove of Wolves goaltender Eddie Lack.
The Admirals took a 2-1 lead 2:38 into the second period when defenseman Scott Valentine ripped a shot passed Lack, top-shelf.
Haydar brought the Wolves even at two when he took a feed from Reinprecht and sent a shot from the near circle over the stick of Smith at 7:36 of the middle frame.
Smith (16-5-1) posted 28 saves.
Admirals defenseman Scott Ford gave Milwaukee a 3-2 lead at 13:10 of the second stanza when he picked up a loose puck in the high slot and fired a shot past a screened Lack.
Milwaukee jumped ahead 4-2 when Center Michael Latta received a pass from right wing Taylor Beck on a two-on-one break and slid the puck into the back of the net and past Lack at 8:48 of the third period.
Lack (7-8-3) kicked out 29 of 33 shots in the loss.
The Wolves return home tomorrow night for an Illinois Lottery Cup battle at 7 p.m. against the Rockford Icehogs at Allstate Arena.
