Wolves Make A Deal With Doell

The 30-year-old forward spent five seasons in a Wolves sweater from 2003 to 2008, before joining Leksands-IF of the Swedish First Division, where he racked up 22 goals, 27 assists, 49 points and 105 penalty minutes in 37 outings last season.

DOELL's most recent North American action came as a member of the Wolves 2008 Calder Cup championship team. He notched a postseason career-high four goals, nine points and 41 penalty minutes in 24 playoff contests en route to helping the club capture the league title that year, and tallied 16 goals and 33 points and led team forwards with a +18 plus/minus rating in 68 regular-season matchups.

The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, native, also made his National Hockey League debut with the Atlanta Thrashers in 2007-08, notching his first career NHL point - an assist on Jan. 15 against the Detroit Red Wings - and four penalty minutes in eight games.

The University of Denver graduate and 2004 ECHL Rookie of the Year ranks 11th in Wolves franchise history with 279 career games played and holds 17th on the club's all-time scoring register with 131 points (52G, 79A). He has also appeared in 40 career Calder Cup playoff matchups for Chicago, collecting six goals, nine assists, 15 points and 55 penalty minutes.

In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Wolves have announced six prime dates for the 2009-10 season, which kicks off with the franchise's 16th home opener at the Allstate Arena on Sat., Oct. 3.
