Manchester Wolves News Release
The Manchester Wolves, New Hampshire's professional arenafootball2 team announced today that rock band Nimbus 9 will join their pre-game and halftime festivities this Friday August 4, when the Wolves host their East Division rival Wilkes-Barre Scranton Pioneers for a first-round American Conference playoff game on Brady Sullivan Field at the Verizon Wireless Arena.
"We're really excited for this opportunity," said Lead Vocalist Joey Bolduc, who is engaged to "Lady Wolf Pack" member Kim Vallee. "We can't wait to pump up the crowd, both outside and inside, and give everyone a great performance."
Nimbus 9 is made up of four Goffstown, N.H. band-mates: Kevin Neveu (Bass), Greg Neveu (Guitar), Joey Bolduc (Lead Vocals) and Ryan Lemire (Drums) that have been performing and traveling all around the New England area ( Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire) on a regular basis.
The band, which has made it past the first-round of Jillian's annual "Battle of the Bands" contest the last two years, will be showcasing their energetic stage presence and versatile melodies when they perform pre-game at 6:00 p.m. on the Verizon Wireless Arena's outdoor plaza, then again on Brady Sullivan Field at halftime.
"I'm really glad they (Nimbus 9) were available to join us for what should be a great night for all fans," said Wolves' General Manager Angelo Mazzella. "I've heard they're very entertaining and I can't wait to watch."
Manchester (9-7), the #4 seed, will play host to their East Division rival Wilkes-Barre Scranton Pioneers (9-7), the #5 seed, at 7:30 pm on Brady Sullivan Field at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, N.H this Friday night. The season series between the two teams went to the Wolves this year with a 2-1 game advantage in three contests. The career series between the two clubs is knotted up at 7-7.
The American Conference first round playoff game, will mark the second year in row that the Wolves have not only reached the post season but have also hosted a game at home in the Verizon Wireless Arena since their arrival to Manchester.
The Wolves are currently riding their biggest winning streak of the year, four games, into Friday night's contest thanks to the great play of rookie quarterback Steve Bellisari from Ohio State University. Bellisari, who is 4-0 as a starter, has thrown for 25 touchdowns on the season.
Friday night's match up will also mark the return of the former University of New Hampshire Wildcat standout quarterback, Mike Granieri, who will start for the Pioneers. Granieri is currently 1-1 at the Verizon Wireless Arena this season against the Wolves.
