Wolves Bolster Blue Line with Addition of Milam

The Chicago Wolves have signed defenseman TROY MILAM (MY-luhm).

The Lake Orion, Mich., native spent the majority of last season with the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators, where he ranked second among league defenseman with 41 assists and fourth with 48 points in 48 regular-season games. MILAM also racked up two penalty minutes in two games with the Wolves last season.

The 26-year-old blueliner shared first among ECHL defensemen with 15 points (4G, 11A) in 17 postseason contests, helping the Gladiators reach the Kelly Cup Finals.

Overall, MILAM has collected 78 assists and 91 points in 127 career ECHL tilts with the Reading Royals (2004-05) and Gladiators (2003-04, 2005-06). He has recorded 17 points (3G, 14A) in 64 career American Hockey League games with the San Antonio Rampage (2003-04), Manchester Monarchs (2004-05) and Wolves (2005-06).

Prior to turning pro, MILAM recorded 79 points (21G, 58A) in 155 games spanning four seasons with Ferris State University (1999-2003).

The Wolves launch their 13th season at Carver Arena against the Peoria Rivermen on Sat., Oct. 7, at 7 p.m. Chicago opens its 40-game home schedule vs. the Milwaukee Admirals at the Allstate Arena on Sat., Oct. 14, at 7 p.m.
