
Wizards Staff to Scout New Talent at MLS Combine

KANSAS CITY, MO (Friday, January 7, 2005) - Kansas City Wizards General Manager Curt Johnson, Head Coach Bob Gansler and Assistant Coach Brian Bliss will depart for Los Angeles on Saturday to scout new talent at the 2005 adidas MLS Player Combine which will be held for the second consecutive year at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California from January 8-11, 2005.
A total of 66 college seniors have been invited to take part in the 2005 MLS Player Combine. MLS General Managers and members of all 12 MLS coaching staffs will be in attendance to scout talent at the event leading up to the 2005 MLS SuperDraft. The adidas MLS Player Combine will take place just a few days before the 2005 MLS SuperDraft, which will be held in Baltimore, Maryland on Friday, January 14th.
Currently the Wizards own six picks in the four-round 2005 MLS SuperDraft. The Wizards first selection will come in the first round with the 11th overall selection, followed by one second round pick (24th overall), three third round picks (28th, 33rd and 36th overall) and one fourth round pick (47th overall).
The 2005 MLS SuperDraft will be broadcast live on Fox Sports World beginning at 11:00 a.m. CT on Friday, January 14th. Sean Wheelock and Allan Hopkins will serve as hosts for the live broadcast.
