Wizards Place Forward Michael Kraus On Waivers

The Kansas City Wizards announced today that forward Michael Kraus has been placed on waivers in advance of Wednesday's MLS roster compliance deadline.

Kraus joined the Wizards as the 48th overall pick in the 2007 Supplemental Draft. After spending his first two regular seasons in the reserves, Kraus made his MLS debut in the 2008 playoffs against Columbus. He went on to play 11 matches for the Wizards in 2009, scoring his first MLS goal against the Colorado Rapids on March 28.

With the waiving of Kraus, the Kansas City Wizards roster is now at the 24-player limit required by MLS. The Wizards open the 2010 season this Saturday, March 27th against D.C. United at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

The Wizards open the 2010 MLS Season on Saturday, March 27th when they take on D.C. United at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. The Wizards are currently taking orders for new season tickets. Season tickets are discounted up to 33% off the face value price and start at only $180 for 18 games. Fans purchasing new season-ticket packages will retain an early priority number that will determine seat locations in Kansas City's new stadium, which is scheduled to open in the summer of 2011. Season ticket holders also get preferred parking at all Wizards home games, access to Wizards VIP events, merchandise discounts and much more. Kansas City is one of 18 cities included in the USA Bid Committee's bid to FIFA. The USA Bid Committee will submit their bid to FIFA in May, with FIFA choosing the host nations for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups in December of 2010.
