Sporting Kansas City returns home to host the Portland Timbers at 7:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at Sporting Park as the club celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month. Tickets are available on SeatGeek, including a special Latino Heritage Night ticket pack featuring an exclusive luchador mask/hat and a Corona or Coca-Cola product.
The Western Conference match-up will be available to watch in English and Spanish on Apple TV in addition to local radio coverage on Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM with audio streams in the SKC mobile app.
NATIONAL WALK TO SCHOOL DAY: Sporting Kansas City and Saint Luke's are teaming up to celebrate National Walk to School Day this week. Sporting KC mascot Blue will meet students and staff from Liberty View Elementary (14800 S. Greenwood St., Olathe, KS) at the Symphony Hills Clubhouse (14915 S. Gallery St., Olathe, KS) at 8 a.m. on Wednesday for their walk to school (8:15 a.m.) in addition to classroom visits (8:45 a.m.) and a playground appearance (9:20 a.m.) for recess. Saint Luke's will donate water bottles for students as well as educational materials to encourage healthy and active lifestyles for youth. The MLS Roster Freeze Date is set for Friday, requiring all teams to submit a final 30-man roster for the remainder of the 2026 campaign. Per MLS rules, no changes can be made to a club's roster - subject to Extreme Hardship - from the Roster Freeze Date through the day after MLS Cup, which is scheduled for Dec. 18.
New four-week sessions of Sporting Stripes and Sporting Stars, early childhood soccer programs for 2-8 year olds, will start on Saturday morning at Maranatha Christian Academy ()7055 Silverheel St.) in Shawnee, Kansas. For more information, visit SportingKCYouth.com.
The Sporting KC Academy will continue the 2026-27 MLS NEXT campaign this Saturday against cross-state rivals St. Louis CITY SC. The doubleheader will kick off at 10 a.m. CT with the U-14's and U-18's followed by the U-16's at 12:15 p.m. CT.
