Wizards Make Damone Brown 48th GATORADE Call-Up

GREENVILLE, S.C., March 19 – The Washington Wizards have signed Huntsville Flight small forward Damone Brown to a 10-day contract, making him the ninth GATORADE Call-Up of the 2004-05 National Basketball Development League season.

Brown is the 48th overall GATORADE Call-Up spread over 34 players since the NBDL began play in November 2001. This is Brown's second call-up while playing in the NBA's Development League. He was called-up from the Charleston Lowgators (now Florida Flame) by the Toronto Raptors in 2002-03.

In 32 games (26 starts) for the Flight this season, Brown averaged 34.1 minutes, 15.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists. His scoring average led the Flight and was fifth in the NBDL. He played in 100 career NBDL games, averaging 29.5 minutes, 13.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists.

Selected by the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round (37th overall) of the 2001 NBA Draft, Brown has played in 25 NBA games (three starts), averaging 8.0 minutes, 2.2 points and 1.0 rebounds in stints with the Sixers, Toronto Raptors and New Jersey Nets.
