Burlington Bees News Release

Mitch Haniger walked with the bases loaded and nobody out in the bottom of the eleventh inning to give the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers a 5-4 win over the Burlington Bees on Monday night at Time Warner Cable Field.

It was a back and forth affair in the series finale on Monday, and in the end the Rattlers (17-17) took advantage of two singles and two walks by Kenny Hatcher (0-1) in the eleventh to pick up the win. Orlando Arcia walked to start the eleventh and advanced to second on a bunt single by Tyrone Taylor. Michael Reed singled to load the bases and on a 3-2 count, Mitch Haniger walked to bring home the winning run.

The Bees (12-20) had to battle back on Monday night, falling behind 3-2 after six innings, but did so successfully in the eighth as Andrew Ray singled home Anthony Bemboom to tie the game at three. Jairo Diaz delivered two scoreless innings to send the game into extra innings.

Chevy Clarke belted a solo home run over the left field wall to put Burlington ahead 4-3 in the tenth. However, Garrett Baker came in and allowed Michael Reed to double to start the inning. Reed advanced to third on a groundout, prompting Joey Krehbiel to enter out of the bullpen. Krehbiel walked Victor Roache, but struck out Adam Giacalone for the second out. Chris McFarland had the count 3-1 on him, and Krehbiel threw a wild pitch, allowing Reed to score and tie the game.

Burlington will now head to Cedar Rapids to play four games in three days. Tuesday's game will feature Ryan Crowley against Brett Lee. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
