Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Announce Opening Week Events

GRAND CHUTE, WI - The recent weather has everyone thinking Spring and the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers want to get everyone thinking baseball as they announce their events for the first week of their baseball season. Fan Fest, The Leadoff Experience, and the first three games of the 2012 will take place from April 3 through April 7.

Fan Fest - Tuesday, April 3: Fan Fest will be held at Time Warner Cable Field from 12:00pm until 5:30pm. Parking and admission are free. Also, fans will receive a punch card when they enter the stadium which will allow them to receive a free soda, hotdog, and box of popcorn from the concession stands. The team will practice and hold a five inning intrasquad game on the field - weather permitting. Players will be available for autographs throughout the afternoon. There will also be stadium tours during the event. Those attending Fan Fest will receive a parking coupon that allows them to park for free at any of the first three home games of the 2012 season.

Leadoff Experience - Wednesday, April 4: Former Milwaukee Brewer Craig Counsell headlines this event at Liberty Hall in Kimberly. There will be a social hour and Timber Rattlers autograph session from 5:30pm until 6:30pm. Dinner will be served at 6:30pm with a special interactive Q & A session with players, coaches, and Craig Counsell to follow. Reservations for the Leadoff Experience are available by contacting the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers front office at (920) 733-4152. Fans may reserve seats individually or up to a table of nine.

Opening Night - Thursday, April 5: The 2012 season starts with a game against the Cedar Rapids Kernels at 6:35pm. There is an "All Fan" giveaway of Bobbleheads representing different eras from the last 50 years of professional baseball in the Fox Cities.

Opening week concludes with two more games against the Kernels - Friday, April 6 at 6:35pm and Saturday, April 7 at 1:05pm. Friday night is the first North Shore Bank/Y100 Family Night with Kids Eat Free and Postgame Kids Run the Bases of the season. Saturday afternoon is the first Fly Away Saturday which features one fan receiving two charter airline tickets from Funjet Vacations and Fox World Travel.

Tickets for all Timber Rattlers home games are available now and may be purchased over the phone 800-WI-TIMBER, in person at the Time Warner Cable Field Box Office, or online at timberrattlers.com.
