Burlington Bees News Release

Burlington, IA (March 19, 2012) - The Burlington Bees are happy to announce the return of the Spring Little League Camp and Pitch, Hit and Run Competition on Saturday, April 21 at Community Field.

As in the past, current Bees players and coaches will conduct a baseball and softball camp for little leaguers, ages 7 to 14 years old. Children can benefit from learning from professional baseball players, including former major leaguer and current Bees pitching coach, John Wasdin. Bees staff will focus on teaching the fundamentals of hitting, throwing, and fielding from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Following Spring Camp, campers are invited to stay for the free Aquafina Pitch, Hit and Run competition at noon. The kids who stick around can compete in three areas of baseball: pitching, hitting, and base running. Those who prove worthy will move on to a regional competition later this spring.

A parent or guardian must sign a waiver form for a child to participate in the PHR Competition. The forms are available at Community Field and must be completed before the competition. Stop by the Bees office during normal business hours, or visit www.gobees.com to print a copy of the form.
