
Winterhawks Prospect Ryan Miller Named CSSHL Top Freshman Award Nominee

Portland, Ore. - Portland Winterhawks signed prospect Ryan Miller was named a finalist for the Canadian Sports School Hockey League (CSSHL) U18 Prep Division Top Freshman Award.
After a dazzling season with South Alberta Hockey Academy (SAHA), where he produced 35 points in 31 games, the 15 year old from Medicine Hat, Alta. was one of three nominees honored for the end-of-season league award.
He helped SAHA U18 win the Circle K Classic, a highly respected AAA tournament, earlier this year and represented Team Alberta at the 2023 Canada Winter Games this February, scoring two points in five tournament games.
Originally selected by Portland in the third round, #66 overall, of the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft, Miller attended the Winterhawks Neely Cup Training Camp and signed his WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the Hawks at the end of camp. Miller made his WHL debut on December 2, 2022 against Victoria. He appeared in three regular season games with the Winterhawks this year.
