Wings Sweeten Roster With Acquisition of Candy from Toronto

The Philadelphia Wings indoor lacrosse team today acquired second-year defenseman Drew Candy from the Toronto Rock in exchange for 13-year veteran forward Kevin Finneran. Candy, played in nine games in his rookie season for the Rock last year.

"Drew adds depth and toughness to our defensive lineup," said Wings General Manager Marty O'Neill. "He will be a great asset to the Wings as we look to add youth and strength to our roster."

Candy was drafted by the Rock in the second round (18th overall) of the 2001 NLL Draft. Born and raised in London, Ontario, he spent the 2001 season on the Rock's practice squad. He played his amateur lacrosse for the Coquitlam Adanacs of the Western Lacrosse League.

Finneran owns the longest games played streak in the history of indoor lacrosse (139). He is the Wings in all-time assists leader (281), and ranks second in Wings all-time goals scored (193) and all-time points (474).
