The Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League have relieved Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson and Assistant Coaches Terry Sanderson, Gregg MacDonald, and Chris Sanderson of their duties effective today, according to Wings' President Russ Cline. Lindsay Sanderson will remain as the Wings' General Manager, a position he has held since 2004

"This decision was a difficult one, but we did not feel that the team made reasonable progress this past season," said Cline. "We are very appreciative of the dedicated service of the coaches and believe that they have built a talented roster with outstanding potential. Lindsay will lead our search for a new head coach that will begin immediately."

Lindsay Sanderson, who was hired as General Manager and Head Coach on June 23, 2004, amassed a 21-27 record with the Wings in three seasons. Prior to joining the Wings front office, he served as an Assistant Coach for the Toronto Rock and General Manager and Defensive Coach for the Ottawa Rebel.

Terry Sanderson was hired as an Assistant Coach during the summer of 2006. His major responsibility was as a defensive coach. Previous to the Wings, he was the Head Coach of the Toronto Rock where he guided them to a World Championship in 2005.

Gregg MacDonald, was hired by the Wings as an Assistant Coach on July 19, 2003. He was an Assistant Coach in charge of the defense for the Ottawa Rebel under Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson from 2001-03.

Chris Sanderson, was named as an Assistant Coach on September 1, 2004. He assisted Lindsay Sanderson in coaching the offense as well as assisting in some of his duties as GM. The former goaltender played for five seasons in the NLL and was a member of the Wings 2001 World Championship Team.
