Arizona Sting News Release
GLENDALE, AZ --- The National Lacrosse League announced today that the 2007 Champion's Cup Final will be played at Jobing.com Arena on Saturday, May 12, at 1:00pm local time. The match will feature the West Division Champion Arizona Sting (11-7) and the East Division's Rochester Knighthawks (16-2) in a winner-take-all contest to determine the league's top team.
Despite having secured home-floor advantage throughout the playoffs after posting a regular season record of 14-2, the Knighthawks are unable to host the league's title match due to a scheduling conflict with their home venue, the Blue Cross Arena.
"We're thrilled that the championship game will be held in Glendale," said Sting Head Coach/GM Bob Hamley. "Our fans have been very supportive of us over the years and we're very happy that we'll get a chance to play for the title for them at home."
Arizona has posted a record of 7-2 on their home floor thus far in 2007. Both of Rochester's losses this season have come on the road.
Tickets for the Champion's Cup Final are available through Ticketmaster or by calling 623-842-GOAL. The game will be televised live nationally on VERSUS.
The Arizona Sting is a professional indoor lacrosse team playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). Their home games are played at the Jobing.com Arena and their season runs annually from January-April. For more information, please visit www.ArizonaSting.com.
