Wings Lose to the Rock in Hamilton
Published on April 15, 2023 under National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Philadelphia Wings News Release
The Wings looked good out of the gate in Hamilton, and they were tied at 3 after the first quarter. But after some misfortune in the form of unsuccessful challenges and unlucky bounces, the Wings found themselves down 8-4 headed into the half.
The second half was a battle for the Wings as they won the third quarter, 2-1, but 2 Rock goals early in the 4th seemed to take all of the momentum out of a potential comeback. The Wings ultimately fell to the Rock, 12-7.
Mitch Jones was one of the few bright spots on the offensive side of the floor throughout the night as he scored 5 goals. Joe Resetarits was the only other Wings player with more than 2 points on the night, he had 4 assists.
The Wings are still in the hunt for a playoff spot, but they no longer control their own destiny. They will need to win out and get some help from the outcomes of other games for a chance to play in this year's postseason. The Wings next game is next Sunday against Albany.
