Philadelphia Wings News Release
PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Philadelphia Wings (4-9) lost to the Toronto Rock (8-6) by the score of 13-6 at the Wachovia Center on Saturday night. Philadelphia was unable to establish an offensive attack, especially in the first half when they scored just one goal.
Wings goalie Brandon Miller kept his team in the game in the first half. He faced 26 shots and only allowed four total goals, a .846 save percentage. Unfortunately for Philadelphia, Toronto Rock goalie Steve Dietrich was able to turn away 18 of 19 Wings shots to give his team a 4-1 halftime lead.
Toronto opened the second half with two quick goals to extend their lead, but Philadelphia was able to find offense from Kevin Huntley and Geoff Snider to come within three goals, but that is as close as the Wings would come. Led by rookie forward Stephan Leblanc with 11 points (5G, 6A), the Rock continued to outpace the Wings with nine second half scores.
