
Wings Lose Tight Game to Rochester 15-12

ROCHESTER, NY - The Philadelphia Wings (4-10) lost a highly compettive game to the Rochester Knighthawks (7-7) by the score of 15-12 in Rochester on Saturday night. Philadelphia had an early five goal advantage in the first quarter but were unable to hold the lead. Rochester's Shawn Williams had an incredible ten points on the night (3G, 7A).
The first quarter belonged to Philadelphia, as the Wings outscored Rochester 6-1 in the period. inlcuding Wings' leading scorer Drew Westervelt led the early onslaught with three first-quarter goals and Brandon Miller stopped 14 of 15 Rochester shots. The Knighthawks began to find their offensive flow in the second quarter, outscoring the Wings 4-2 to get within three goals of Philadelphia entering halftime. Rochester's five first half scores came from four separate Knighthawks.
Rochester continued its attack on net in the third quarter netting six goals in the period. Willams and Shawn Evans were dominant both with four points in the third. Philadelphia was able to get to test Knighthawks goalie Aaron Bold, but could were only able to beat him twice on 11 shots. The Wings elevated their pressure on offense firing 16 more shots at Bold in the fourth quarter, but he was able to turn away all but two. Philadelphia's Max Seibald was able to get his team even with Rochester at 12 goals with just under seven minutes to play but the Knighthawks responded with three consecutive scores to close out the game.
