
Game Night: K-Hawks Host Wings In Home Finale

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Knighthawks will host the Philadelphia Wings tonight at 7:35 p.m. on Hall of Fame Night. The game will be broadcast live on The Zone 94.1 FM and thezone941.com.

Hall of Fame/Awards Night: The Knighthawks will honor the Hall of Fame Class of 2010, which features past General Manager Jody Gage and former players Paul Gait and Randy Mearns. The K-Hawks will also hand out their team awards to honor the best performances of the season.
Knighthawks Notes : The Rochester Knighthawks used a gutty performance tonight to defeat the Minnesota Swarm 12-11 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn. With the win, the Knighthawks (6-7) moved into a three-way tie for third place in the East Division. Bobby McBride scored the game-winner with just 1:46 to play to deny the Minnesota Swarm the chance at a come-from-behind victory. The win ended Rochester's four-game losing streak. John Grant Jr. (3+3) and Shawn Williams (2+3) led the Knighthawks offense, while Scott Evans (2+1) and Craig Point (1+2) added three points apiece. Pat O'Toole earned the win in goal in a 32-save effort. Rochester is trying to end a franchise-record four-game home losing streak. Forward Gary Gait is expected to be in the lineup tonight.
Head-to-Head : The Knighthawks own a 19-15 all-time record against the Wings. Rochester is 1-0 this season against one of their oldest rivals. The Knighthawks defeated Philly 12-6 on February 20th to extend their winning streak over the Wings to two games. Grant has played in 20 regular season games against the Wings and has 72 goals and 69 assists for 141 points.
Philadelphia Notes : The Wings dropped a 13-6 decision to the Toronto Rock last Saturday. Geoff Snider led the Wings with three points (1+2), 16 loose balls and 16 faceoff wins. The loss ended the Wings' two-game winning streak. Philadelphia is now 4-9 and two games out of the fourth and final playoff spot in the East with just three games to play. Forward Drew Westervelt leads the Wings with 60 points (25+35). Snider leads the NLL with 230 faceoff wins and 194 loose balls. He is also second in the league with 77 penalty minutes. Goalie Brandon Miller is third in the NLL with 450 saves.
Postgame Events : After Saturday's game, fans can head down to the turf for a full-team autograph session. Fans can also meet their favorite players at Legends Bar and Grille in the Radisson for the official postgame party.
Next Game: The Rochester Knighthawks hit the road for the first of two straight road games to end the 2010 regular season. The K-Hawks face the Toronto Rock at 7:30 p.m. at the Air Canada Centre. The game will be broadcast live on The Zone 94.1 FM and thezone941.com.
Upcoming Event : The Knighthawks will hold their Fourth Annual "Tip-A-Knighthawk" charity event on Tuesday, April 20th. Knighthawks players Joe Walters and John Grant will join mascots and dance teams members to collect tips to benefit CURE Childhood Cancer Association. The event is scheduled from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bugaboo Creek Steak House at 935 Jefferson Road in Henrietta. The festivities will include a raffle of sports memorabilia. Fans can also challenge Grant and Walters to games on the Wii video game system for a minimal donation to CURE.
