Philadelphia Wings forward Athan Iannucci was named the NLL's Rookie of the Week for his ten-point (6G, 4A) performance in his team's 20-8 over the New York Titans last Saturday at the Wachovia Center. Iannucci scored six goals, added four assists and scored two of his goals on the power play while collecting ten loose balls in the win.
"Athan worked hard on Saturday night and it paid off," said Wings Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson. "He had a couple of rough games mid-season, but has really started to come into his own the past few games here."
Iannucci has 47 points (27G, 20A) through 13 games this season and is third overall in scoring for the Wings. The 6'4", 215-pound forward was drafted by the Wings in the first round (eighth overall) in the 2006 NLL Entry Draft.
The Wings host the Minnesota Swarm in their final home game at the Wachovia Center this Friday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. Party Packs are just $66 and include four lower level seats, four hot dogs and four sodas. Call (215) 389-WING (9464) or log on to www.wingslax.com for ticket information.
