
Wings' Iannucci and Snider Named To 2007 NLL All-Rookie Team

Philadelphia Wings forward Athan Iannucci and transition player Geoff Snider were named to the 2007 NLL All-Rookie Team as chosen by the governors, general managers and coaches of the NLL's 13 member clubs.
"Both guys have made a significant impact in this league in their first season and both are very deserving of this recognition," said Wings General Manager Lindsay Sanderson. "We expect them both to become great players in this league."
Iannucci finished as the Wings' leading goal scorer and third overall scorer this season with 54 points (30G, 24A) in 15 games. The 6'4", 215-pound Hofstra University product was second overall in loose balls with 123. Iannucci was drafted by the Wings in the first round (eighth overall) in the 2006 NLL Entry Draft. The Coquitlam, British Columbia native was named the NLL's Rookie of the Week twice during the 2007 season.
Snider was sixth overall in scoring for the Wings with 31 points (14G, 17A) in 15 games. The Calgary, Alberta native led his team in loose balls (180) and led the league in face-offs with a 75% win percentage (201 of 268). The Denver University graduate was named the NLL's Rookie of the Month in January, received one Transition Player of the Week Award, and was named to the East Team for the 2007 NLL All-Star Game. The Calgary, Alberta native was drafted by the Wings in the first round (fourth overall) of the 2006 NLL Entry Draft.
This is fourth consecutive season that the Wings have had at least one player chosen for the All-Rookie Squad. Past Wings All-Rookie Team winners were Sean Greenhalgh (2006), Andrew Burkholder (2005), Dan Finck (2005), Ryan Ward (2004), and current team captain, Thomas Hajek (2004).
The remaining members of the NLL All-Rookie Team are Nenad Gajic and Jamie Shewchuk of the Colorado Mammoth, Bill McGlone of the Chicago Shamrox,, and Ryan Benesch of the Toronto Rock, who was also named the NLL Rookie of the Year.
