Philadelphia Wings Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson has earned a position as Assistant Coach for the East Division Team that will compete in the 2006 National Lacrosse League All-Star Game on Saturday, February 26 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, ON. Sanderson received the coaching berth as the Head Coach of the second place team in the East Division through week six on NLL play. Ed Comeau, Head Coach of the first place Rochester Knighthawks, will serve as Head Coach of the East Division squad.
"Lindsay's selection as a member of the East All-Star coaching staff is recognition of his outstanding coaching accomplishments this year," said Wings Owner and President Russ Cline. "We are very proud of his contributions to the Wings and the NLL."
Sanderson's Wings are 3-1 this season and undefeated on the road. The second-year head coach has a 9-11 record with the Wings and is the fifth head coach in the Wings' 20-year history. Prior to joining Philadelphia, Sanderson was the Assistant Coach for the Toronto Rock and helped to guide the team to an 8-2 record after taking over the team mid-season with his brother Terry. Sanderson resides in Orangeville, ON and commutes to Philadelphia each week for practices and games.
