Philadelphia Wings News Release

Philadelphia Wings captain Brodie Merrill has been named Transition Player of the Week by the National Lacrosse League (NLL) for the second consecutive week and goalie Brandon Miller awarded Defensive Player of the Week for their play in the Wings road victory over the Toronto Rock, 8-7 last Saturday.

For the second week, Merrill was the league's best transition player, scooping a game-high 10 loose balls and scoring a goal in the Wings comeback victory in Toronto. Miller's heroics in goal proved to be the answer for the Wings as the net minder notched his 3600th career save, after recording 53 saves on 60 shots for an 88% save rate. Miller's goals against average leads the league at 7.5 goals per game.

The Wings play twice this weekend, first traveling to Buffalo on Saturday, January 26 to take on the Bandits at the First Niagara Center at 7:30 p.m. before returning home to Wells Fargo Center to host the Calgary Roughnecks on Sunday, January 27 at 4 p.m. The team will wear a special camouflage uniform for the game on Sunday to honor American Heroes. The game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off post-game, with all proceeds going to benefit The Wounded Warrior Project.

Tickets for all Wings 2013 home games are available by phone at 215-389-WING or online at WingsLAX.com.
