
Wings Acquire Liam Byrnes from Panther City at Trade Deadline

Defenseman Liam Byrnes will be returning to the City of Brotherly Love. In the middle of a tightly contested playoff race, Paul Day made the move to acquire Byrnes by sending a 2023 2nd round pick to Panther City Lacrosse Club.
Byrnes, 29, returns to play for the Wings after playing the past two seasons in Panther City. Byrnes was originally drafted in Georgia in 2016 before being acquired by the Wings. He played in Philly until being selected by Panther City in the expansion draft ahead of their 2021-2022 inaugural season.
This season, Byrnes has appeared in 12 games for Panther City. He has scored 2 goals and 3 assists, has picked up 52 loose balls and has caused 13 turnovers. Recently named a member of Team USA, Byrnes will represent the United States in the 2023 World Lacrosse Men's Championship in San Diego this summer.
