Wingnuts Announce 2013 Spring Training Schedule

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Wingnuts unveiled their 2013 spring training schedule on Thursday.
This year's exhibition slate features eight games, including four at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
Spring action begins Sunday, May 5th when the Wingnuts host Friends University at 2:05 p.m., and continues the following evening at 6:05 p.m. against Emporia State University. Wichita also hosts two School Kids Day events on Wednesday, May 8th versus Kansas City and Wednesday, May 15th versus Winnipeg. Both School Kids Day games begin at 11:05 a.m.
Tickets are just $7 general admission for the four home dates and can be purchased at the gate one hour before the scheduled first pitch. Special pricing is available to students and teachers attending as a group for the two School Kids Days.
Sandwiched between the two morning games are four road matches over a three-day span. The Wingnuts play a round robin double header on Friday, May 10th against Kansas City and Lincoln at Lincoln's Haymarket Park. Wichita plays at Sioux Falls the following afternoon and then travels to historic Joe Becker Stadium in Joplin, MO for another game against Kansas City on Sunday, May 12th.

May 8th vs. Kansas City T-Bones - Lawrence-Dumont Stadium, 11:05 a.m.
May 10th vs. Kansas City T-Bones - Haymarket Park, 6:00 p.m.
May 10th at Lincoln Saltdogs - Haymarket Park, 8:00 p.m.
May 11th at Sioux Falls Canaries - Sioux Falls Stadium, 2:00 p.m.
May 12th vs. Kansas City T-Bones - Joe Becker Stadium, 2:05 p.m.
May 15th vs. Winnipeg Goldeyes - Lawrence-Dumont Stadium, 11:05 a.m.
The 2013 season of Wichita Wingnuts baseball begins Thursday, May 16th against the Kansas City T-Bones at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. Prior to the game, a ceremony celebrating the life of bench coach Brian Rose will take place.
Beginning this season, fans can use cash at all points of sale in Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. Debit and credit cards will still be accepted. Fans can resolve outstanding balances on cash cards from previous years until June 1st, 2013.
