
AirHogs Sign Malcolm, Barnett and Gagnier

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The Grand Prairie AirHogs announced that the team has signed Stephen Malcolm, Eldred Barnett and Drew Gagnier to contracts for the 2013 season.
Malcolm played a number of infield positions for Lakewood in the South Atlantic League last season, batting .169 in 48 games. He was selected in the 8th round of the 2010 draft by the Philadelphia Phillies out of San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, CA.
Barnett is an outfielder who played for the Giants' Rookie League team in Arizona the past two seasons, batting .246 in 38 games covering the last two years. He was selected in the 29th round of the 2011 draft by the San Francisco Giants out of Grambling State University.
Gagnier is a pitcher who played in the Oakland Athletics farm system last year at Vermont and Stockton. The RHP went 2-1 with a 3.30 ERA in 19 games with Vermont in the New York-Penn League. Gagnier was selected in the 17th round of the 2010 draft by the Detroit Tigers out of the University of Oregon.
