(WINDSOR, ONTARIO) Windsor has delivered the first blow in the NBL Finals, and it was a big one.
Darren Duncan had 26 points to headline seven Express players in double digits, as Windsor cruised to a 122-100 win over the Island Storm at the WFCU Centre on Friday night.
Duncan added 11 rebounds for his double-double.
Windsor got a huge boost off the bench from Papa Oppong, who went 5-for-5 in the game, all three pointers, for 15 points.
Chris Commons had a double-double as well, with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Windsor took a four point lead after the first quarter and extended that to 13 by halftime.
The Island took the third quarter, 27-26 before the Express sealed the victory with a 37-27 advantage in the final frame.
The Storm got 17 points from Nick Okorie to lead their club.
Windsor hopes to take a 2-0 series lead in Game 2 on Sunday, April 6th at 2:00pm at the WFCU Centre.
