CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - CPL Retail Energy is pleased to announce they are holding a contest through the Corpus Christi IceRays that will offer one lucky winner free electricity for one year.

The contest will be held until the end of the season at IceRays home games with the winner being picked on March 24th.

"We light up the homes of thousands of IceRays fans and so we thought this would be a great way to say thank you - by giving folks the chance to enter to win free electricity for a year from one of the "Best of the Best" local companies" said Jim Steffens, general manager and vice president of CPL."

The IceRays will have sign-ups during home games, along with a link on their website www.goicerays.com to sign up for the contest.

Official Rules

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW OR REGULATION. PARTICIPANTS MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER AT THE TIME OF ENTRY AND LIVE IN THE CPL RETAIL ENERGY "CPL" TERRITORY.

1. Employees and immediate family members of CPL Retail Energy and Triple Puck Sports, LLC dba Corpus Christi IceRays are not eligible to participate. Winner(s) will be responsible for all transfer or disconnect fees with their current retail electricity provider

2. Prize is residential electricity for one year, not to exceed a total value of three thousand dollars ($3,000) credit. No cash will exchange. Prize year will begin on May 1, 2012, and winner must enroll to be a CPL customer by April 24, 2012, or the prize will be forfeited and another winner is selected from the remaining entrants. At the conclusion of one year of service, any unused portion of the value will be forfeited. Prize is not transferable.

3. Credits will apply to new or existing service on a residential CPL account, as selected by the winner. Credit must be used on a single account for residential service in the CPL Service territory (no splitting). In the event of a move within the CPL Service Territory, prize credit may be transferred to a new account in winner's name.

4. Electricity will be billed at the then current rates, at the time of consumption. You are not obligated to remain a CPL customer after receipt of the prize and may close your account at any time as may be provided in any contractual relationship with CPL. If the residential service account covered by the prize credit is terminated, closed, switched, or cancelled for any reason other than a move to another residential account in the CPL Service Territory, the remaining unused balance of the prize credit will be forfeited. There will be no refunds, partial refunds, or cash payments for unused credit.

5. In order to claim a prize, winner must have a residential service address within a Texas service area in which CPL is a Registered Retail Electric Provider (the "CPL Service Territory"), and will be required to have or open a billing account with CPL Residential Services before prize can be delivered.

6. The winner will be chosen by random drawing and announced on March 24, 2012. The winner has 30-days to claim their prize. Entrants do not have to be present to win. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received by entry deadline. The winners will be required to complete an affidavit of eligibility/liability release prior to receiving prize.

7. Prize must be claimed in person at Corpus Christi IceRays Team Offices, located at 1901 N. Shoreline Blvd Suite 300 Corpus Christi, TX 78401. Prize will be available for pick-up during normal business hours before April 24th, 2012. If winner has not claimed the prize by April 25, 2012, prize will be forfeited. The winner must provide identification or have a valid driver's license with photo. Winner must redeem the prize in person and coordinate with CPL for service details by April 25, 2012. Winners are responsible for all taxes incurred by winning prizes and must complete an IRS Form 1099 before the prize will be awarded and any release and waiver forms.

8. The Winner acknowledges that CPL shall have the right to publicize and broadcast their name, likeness, and voice to promote their winning and participation in CPL "Light My Home" contest.

9. Entry to the contest is made online at www.goicerays.com by completing a digital form and submitting that form. CPL is not responsible for lost or misdirected entrants. Entrants may also enter the contest on home game dates at American Bank Center. Two entries per household are allowed. Winner to be determined by Corpus Christi IceRays. All decisions are final.

10. No Cash will be substituted for this Prize. Prize substitutions, rule changes or additions, and contest modifications or withdrawal may occur at CPL sole discretion. Any rules dispute shall be determined by discretion of the management, of CPL.

12. CPL reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend the Contest and randomly award the prize from among eligible entries received at the time of such action, should a virus, bugs, malicious tampering or other causes beyond the control of Sponsor corrupt the administration of proper play of the game.

13. CPL reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify anyone found to be: 1) tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or website hosting the Contest, 2) acting in violation of these Official Rules, or 3) acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Any attempt by an entrant or any other individual to deliberately damage the website where online entries are received or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest is in violation of criminal and civil laws. Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such entrant or individual to the fullest extent permitted by law.
