Wilson Returns to Knights

MACON, Ga. – The Macon Knights have been assigned kicker Wes Wilson and defensive specialist Michael Malone. Wilson, who kicked for the Knights during the 2002 and 2003 seasons, returns to kick for Macon after spending the 2004 season with the Columbus Wardogs.

Wilson made his mark in Knights' history by nailing a 20-yard field goal to seal the Knights' 2003 American Conference Championship and team's first-ever trip to the ArenaCup.

In his career with the Knights, Wilson (6-0, 180, West Georgia) has appeared in 32 regular season games converting 184-of-230 PAT attempts (80.0 percent). He has connected on 11-of-31 field goal attempts with a long of 43 yards.

Wilson, who lives in Columbus, Ga., spent the 2004 season with the Columbus Wardogs. He made 54-of-73 PAT attempts (74.0 percent) and 5-of-18 field goal attempts.

The Knights were also assigned defensive specialist Michael Malone (5-10, 190, Bowling Green). Malone finished his career at BGSU in 2003 helping the Falcons win the 2003 Motor City Bowl. Malone, a defensive back, started 24 games during his career and collected 143 tackles (96 unassisted). He also recorded 6 tackles for a loss, 13 pass breakups and three fumble recoveries.
